Manufacturing for Modular Electronics

Cubelets are robot blocks that combined build thousands of thought-provoking robots. By combining sensor, actuator and logic blocks, kids as young as four, can create simple robots and get acquainted with the basics of electronics and programming.

Since 2010, FPI is responsible for manufacturing the plastic casing with magnet insert, including the Construction Engineering and Design for Manufacturing for new releases.

Manufacturing Expertise:

  • Power & Data Connectors: the blocks are electrically connected, and transfer data on all 6 sides.
  • Electronic Configuration: each block holds different electronic components, within an available space of less than 25 x 25 x 25 mm.
  • Minimize amount of Injection Moulds: Each cube only differ from each other by 1 face.
  • Magnet insert: The remaining 5 faces hold four magnetic inserts each.

Dukhoon | Manufacturing Home Appliance

The Dukhoon+ was designed to create aroma and scents using natural ingredients, based on an ancient traditional ritual. The Traditional Arabic way of creating scent by burning natural wood chips on top of charcoal inside a metallic burner. The Dukhoon technology still uses natural ingredients, but saves time, eliminates the use of charcoal, is portable and safe.

The Dukhoon+ was invented by Sadeq Qasem. A4M group took care of the design, engineering, prototyping, production and award application.

Manufacturing Challenge

  • Custom heating element for the use of agar wood.
  • Engineer and test the optimal airflow.
  • Engineer and test the insulation around the 450°C heating chamber.

Bolt is an advanced meal plan trolley that solves the hassle of prepping and bringing along tailored healthy nutrition, and eliminates disposable delivery packaging. The Bolt takes food delivery to the next level and provided a sustainable Food as a Service including a smart food trolley for on the go.

Orange Creatives FPI took care of the feasibility study, component selection, engineering, prototyping and production setup.

  • Optimize unit cost, weight, and functionality
  • Find components (heating, cooling, dispensing etc)
  • Ensure ease of Assembly, from proof of concept to final production
  • Insulate heating and cooling elements
  • Minimize power and weight for the complete system

Manufacturing with Biobased & Recycled Materials

Since 2018, we explore new sustainable material options for our supply chain. We sit down with every stakeholder in the chain our material suppliers, waste management experts, injection mold partners, blow mold partners, certification partners, packaging suppliers, clients etc. Together we come up with scalable solutions for biobased and recycled material offers, and continue to improve our findings. One outcome is a range of PLA packagings for Bio-Box and a biobased casing for Modrobotics. We continue to explore new materials for large scale productions.
